Banners are being prepared to mark the day and show the importance of meeting with others...

Large banners are being made around the world. These banners will symbolise the link between people of all walks of life who wish to know one another, meet one another and contribute in the fight against poverty. When people come together and work together, they go a step further…they pave the way for peace.

Plan group workshops and gatherings to produce banners representing the meaning of joining together to end poverty - meetings which have been far reaching, which have enabled us to move forward, to overcome our fears, which have changed our outlook on things, which have made us proud, which have brought something new into our lives.

We suggest that large groups be formed to produce banners; it is however possible for each person to produce a small piece which will be attached to those of others. The final product being a collective work.

The banners will be displayed at events around the world marking the international day, and will form a bamboo pathway at the Trocadero Plaza in Paris.
